About this course
You already know how to build React components. TanStack Start turns them into a complete full-stack application: pages defined as files, navigation that TypeScript checks for you, data loaded on the server before a page renders, and server functions that let your frontend call backend code without a separate API.
You'll add one piece at a time, then bring it all together in a full-stack project you build from the ground up.
What you'll learn
- Type-safe file-based routing and navigation
- Dynamic routes with typed path params
- Loading data on the server with route loaders
- Reading and writing UI state through type-safe search params
- Calling backend code from the client with server functions
- Building forms and mutations that create, update, and delete data
- Setting page titles and metadata per route
- Combining it all in a complete full-stack project
Prerequisites
- Comfortable with React (components, props, state, and hooks). Take React Fundamentals (opens in a new tab) first if it feels shaky.
- A little TypeScript helps but is not required. The course leans on inference and explains the types as they come up.
